30 Day Mom Challenge Day 3

Nov 21, 2011 - 12:27 AM

30 Day Mom Challenge Day 3—Hug your child three times today.

Oh this one really is easy for me! I'm a hugger, my kids are huggers. My daughter has turned hugging into an art form, and she'll knock you down if she's not careful. I easily hug my children more than three times within the first 10 minutes they're awake. We value "snugglebunnies" even though it's becoming more and more difficult to fold my kids onto my lap now that they are each about four foot tall and full of angles and elbows. We snuggle! Maybe I should try to limit it to three hugs instead? Yeah, not possible.

One thing that maybe we can work on is hugs for mom and dad. While my husband and I are affectionate, we spend our time and energy hugging and nurturing the children instead of each other. We need to remember that we grown ups need hugs just as much as the kids do. So, I'm going to make a point of giving and getting three good hugs between mom and dad each day.
