OKC Thunder Launches Black History Heroes Challenge

The Oklahoma City Thunder’s annual Black History Heroes Challenge, presented by Sprite, is underway and all Oklahoma students are invited to submit their entry by Saturday, Feb. 4.
The contest is open to students throughout Oklahoma in kindergarten through grade 12. Students are asked to produce pieces portraying an outstanding individual in black history or an impactful African-American in their life. Entrants are encouraged to let their creativity shine through by using photography, music, video, art or writing.

Winners of the contest will receive an Oklahoma City Thunder prize pack, including: four tickets to the Oklahoma City Thunder vs. New Orleans Hornets home game on Feb. 20, recognition at center court prior to the game, an autographed Oklahoma City Thunder item and an award plaque.

Select entries will be displayed on the Love’s Loud City concourse at the Chesapeake Energy Arena during the game on Feb. 20. All entries must be postmarked by Feb. 4, 2012. There will be one winner each from five age groups.
