Oklahoma Caring Van Offers Free Adolescent Vaccinations
The Oklahoma Caring Van will hold an immunization clinic in Oklahoma City targeting adolescent students. The event is a joint effort with the Oklahoma Immunization Coalition and Novartis Vaccines. The Caring Van provides all immunizations required by Oklahoma law for enrollment in schools at no charge, including the Tdap booster which is required for seventh grade entry. Additional adolescent specific vaccines that are available include meningococcal meningitis and human papillomavirus.
The Caring Van will be at the Homeland Grocery Store at 7001 NW 122nd, Oklahoma City from 4 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 19. Immunizations are given on a first come, first serve basis to students up to age 18. For each adolescent immunized, a parent or guardian must be present and provide records of previous immunizations and be present to complete paperwork.
